UPDATED

A Hard Drive failed, preventing the server from properly recording and retrieving data from the local array.

In the interest of minimizing service disruption, a migration onto our current hosting nodes was initiated.

Our decision to migrate user accounts was arrived at when we discovered the failed disk is no longer manufactured and we would be unable to order a spare.

All affected users will receive email regarding their new server details. Any website’s utilizing third-party DNS servers should make any changes necessary.

Websites utilizing Rad Web Hosting’s provided DNS servers have already been updated and no action is needed.

Description: Beginning on Monday, July 31, 2023 01:56 PM CST, Rad Web Hosting technicians began investigating possible disk failure on CPANEL-RADCP36 Server (PHX-1). Preventative measures were implemented to prevent extended downtime and data loss. A contributing factor in this course of action was the fact that the hardware affected had been discontinued by the manufacturer. Maintenance/Migration began immediately and continued until we were able to verify all accounts were migrated successfully and without data loss. Updates were provided via our Status page, through our Network Status Twitter account. Every measure was taken to prevent extended service disruption to any individual accounts, and to minimize the possibilities of data loss.
